Hi, I am Isabelle
Project manager. Parent. Expat residing in Paris, France.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually opened a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to France wasn’t part of the long-range plan. Like many international assignments, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks felt more difficult than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning through doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that worked for us, met other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built SereneCanvasVale
Most information online fell into two camps: corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in France.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical wisdom from living in France
- Centered on family life and everyday experiences
- Updated whenever something meaningful changes
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in France continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Paris or anywhere in France, feel free to contact me.
Warm regards,
Isabelle
